Celebrating the union of Sarah and Oliver in this ultimate London wedding with 360 degrees aerial panoramas of the capital compliments of the city’s most iconic skyscraper: The Shard. This Shard wedding was elegant, fun, relaxed and it featured some of the most breathtaking views across London .
The day began early with bridal and groom prep both taking place in two separate suites of the wedding’s venue, the gorgeous Shagri-La Hotel, located 125 metres up in the sky at the 35th floor of London’s The Shard skyscraper, designed by starchitect Renzo Piano. As Sarah and Oliver were getting ready, guests from all over the world began to arrive, treated by pre-ceremony drinks with a view.
Sarah beamed with a big smile looking stunning as she walked down the aisle to marry the handsome Oliver. The ceremony was intimate and the genuine love Sarah and Oliver share for one another was strongly felt by all of us there. Following on from the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a few moments of privacy together at Hutong, an oriental restaurant and lounge bar on the 33rd floor of the Shard featuring a stunning walls of red lanterns, before rejoining the guests.
After the “I Do’s”, it was time to mingle with friends and family, champagne flukes at the ready. Mixing with the guests was a world class cartoon artist, which walked around sketching glamorously clad men and women as a fun and unique memory of the day. A great wedding favour idea!
With its fully glazed exterior walls, the Shagri-La Hotel offers seemingly endless vistas which become a constantly changing backdrop to the event. On this day, the views over the city from this London Shard wedding were typically English in drama, filled with games of light and shadows with occasional thunderstorms rolling into the distance followed by fleeting displays of rainbows.
After a delicious wedding breakfast adorned by a rich floral theme, it was time to cut the cake. And here is where Sarah and Oliver’s quirky and fun personalities took centre stage, as their mutual love for Star Trek was put into the limelight in both the cake decoration (featuring the happy couple in Star Trek uniforms) and the ‘knife’ used to cut the cake, which turned out to be a razor sharp 5ft double sided Klingon sword known as a ‘Bat’leths’.
As the party began to spill into the night and the sun set over London, champagne began to flow once again as the perfect companion to the glorious golden views and company we were all being treated to.
This London wedding has been one of the most unique and breathtaking I have ever experienced. If I would have to sum it up in a sentence, it would be: a fun and fashionable, champagne-infused Shard wedding sporting character and awe inspiring ever changing London views.
Congratulations to the gorgeous Sarah and Oliver and thank you for making me part of your incredible day.
