I loved this Isle of Wight engagement shoot! An engagement shoot doesn’t have to be overly complicated to make it romantic and beautiful. In fact, for me, the perfect engagement shoot cocktail is made by placing a love’d up couple within a beautiful scenery and blending it all together with a double dose of great light to shoot in. When Isle of Wight locals Jack and Emily got engaged, they decided that before their big Isle of Wight wedding, they wanted a low key, relaxed and romantic Isle of Wight engagement shoot.

I love engagement shoots. For me they are a great opportunity to get to know my couples before their wedding day in a more natural way. Likewise, for my couples, they are a way to also get to know me, but also to see first hand how I work and get used to the camera so that on the wedding day they are confidently themselves and ready to have a great time.

For this Isle of Wight engagement shoot, Jack and Emily wanted a location close to their home in the country overlooking the sea. So, I decided to serve  them my engagement photoshoot cocktail. We set to meet just before sunset on the south coast of the island. A short cliffside trail walk was the perfect opportunity to get to relax and get to know one another. By the time we got to the shoot location, the sun was beginning to turn golden. This is usually a good cue to get my camera out and began shooting. To me, sunsets never get old. I think they are a lot like pizza: when it’s good, it’s really good, but when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. On this particular evening, however, I have to say that the sunset was truly incredible and made this Isle of Wight engagement photoshoot a real treat to be part of. The result? Happy couple. Happy photographer. Insane sunset. Great memories.

Thank you Jack and Emily for this beautiful day out on the island.
